The Task
This was a logo created for The Future of Edulution Podcast, which would feature a host of guests talking about how technology will effect education’s evolution over the following years. I was tasked to make a logo and create a brand identity for the the podcast!

The First Logo was my personal favorite as I believe it has a clever play on words. The title of “Edulution” is so rich with imagery so I decided to make what first came to my head when I heard the term. I started with the “Edu” part of the word and thought about what images come up when I think of school and instantly a No. 2 pencil came to mind. From there I reflected on the evolution part of the word, and I remembered how important Finches were to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Finches are naturally colorful birds so why not combine the finch with the bright colors of a pencil. From there I transformed the term “Edulution”into something visual.

For this block logo I based off of the host Chinat’s sketches. In his podcast he talked heavily about pillars of the student, the teacher, and the institution of education. He sketched out a few basic shapes and a circle. When I saw the shapes I was reminded of very early education and added primary colors and even more basic shapes. A blue circle to represent the student, the red rectangle to represent the institution of education and the yellow triangle to represent the teacher. Chinat liked this idea and it was ultimately chosen.
